About Me

Hello! My name is Angelina Halstead, and I am currently teaching 5th Grade Math & Science at L.M.E.S. I have taught for over 20 years across a wide variety of grades from 1st-8th grade. I graduated from Methodist College (now Methodist University) with a degree in Elementary Education. My husband works as an architect and pastors a church in Jackson, TN, where we currently live. Our children are both grown, married, and each have a child- that's two grandchildren for me to enjoy! My son and his wife live in Jackson, TN. My daughter and her husband live there, as well. As you all probably already know, my daughter is my teaching partner- Mrs. Christina Warren. I am very grateful for this incredible opportunity to teach with my amazing daughter who is an amazing educator.

I am very excited about this school year. While I am new to this county and to this school, I already feel right at home. I believe in encouraging students to empower themselves with knowledge and learning and to challenge themselves to reach goals. My heroes theme in my classroom demonstrates my belief in everyone making a positive impact on the world. I strive to provide students with unique, engaging opportunites for learning in order to sharpen their "superpowers". I believe in encouraging authentic problem-solving and thinking situations to prepare students for the real-life situations they are each going to face. I have high expectations for each child, and I will help them gain the skills needed to meet those expectations. This year will require work from all of us, but it will truly be worth it when we look back over this year and "marvel" at all we have accomplished.
